How To Find Us From Ouistreham Follow the green "Autres Directions" and "Toutes Directions" signs out of the Port towards Caen. Follow Caen and the blue A13 motorway signs for a few miles until you approach a roundabout. Immediately before this roundabout you will turn right on to the periferique following the signs to Paris & Alencon. Take care here NOT to take the earlier junction to Cherbourg (If you reach the roundabout only a few yards past the turn off, you have missed the turn off! If this happens just follow the A13 signs). This will now take you over the high level bridge over the Caen Canal. The road rises on the far side of the bridge. You are now on the periferique. Stay on the periferique, and from now on follow the Alencon, Argentan and Falaise signs and NOT the Paris signs. This road, a dual carriageway, takes you through the industrial estate of Mondeville for about a mile. Leave this road at “Porte d’Espagne” sign posted Alencon, Le Mans, Falaise and Argentan (the slip-road rises up to a roundabout with a blue tubular structure above it), and follow the road marked Falaise and Alencon which is due South (or Left). Now see Caen to Falaise below. From Le Havre Follow the green "Toutes Directions" and "Autres Directions" signs out of the town and then follow the "Pont de Normandie" signs. This is a toll bridge across the Seine and the toll will depend on the size of the car and the time of day. Now continue to the A13 Motorway in the direction of Caen. There will be further tolls to pay on this motorway. About 20 minutes on this motorway will bring you to the end. Come off the motorway here and join the periferique (SUD) following the signs for Alencon. From Cherbourg Your route is through Valognes, Carentan, Isigny, and Bayeux. When approaching Caen join the periferique following Paris, Caen SUD and Alencon. Leave this road at “Porte d’Espagne” sign posted Alencon, Le Mans, Falaise and Argentan (the slip-road rises up to a roundabout with a blue tubular structure above it), and follow the road marked Falaise and Alencon which is due South (or right). Now see Caen to Falaise below. From Calais, Boulogne etc. Head south on the motorway towards Rouen until you are directed to Le Havre. Continue in the direction of Le Havre and then follow and cross over the Pont du Normandie. Now see the directions via Le Havre above. From Dieppe Head south on the motorway towards Rouen. Now see the directions via Calais above. From Caen to Falaise Once through the traffic lights, which are very shortly after the roundabout, it is an excellent dual carriageway to Falaise. Stay on this road (about 25km) till you meet the first roundabout, which is about 1km from Falaise town centre. Take the left exit from the roundabout and head for Falaise Centre Ville. This should bring you to the Ibis Hotel roundabout in about 300m. Go down the hill into Falaise and at the bottom of the hill you will see the lake and the Castle to your right. Falaise to La Hamberie Climb the straight road ahead up the hill out of Falaise through a number of sets of traffic lights (set at night to flash amber - proceed with caution!). After the last set of lights, close to the top of the hill the road begins to curve right and then descends. Immediately the road begins to descend you will see a sign to TRUN to your RIGHT (those with maps will have noted that Trun is really to the left but trust me!). Turn right and follow the road (it is really only a traffic island) round to the left until you come to the halt signs back at the main road. Look left! Cross the main road moving to your left following the Trun sign. By now you should have nearly completed a 180-degree turn. Now keep right following the road round the large church on your right. After 300 yards the road bends right then left and then runs straight to a mini roundabout. Stay on this road as it passes between the Citroen garage and the single story factory. This is the road to Trun. After about 2 miles you will see signs warning of a railway level crossing as you approach the village of Fresne la Mere. No more than 20 yards before the level crossing you will turn right onto a narrow road. This road runs straight for 300 yards then bends left then right (at this point be sure to stay on the "main" road and do not turn left over the narrow bridge even if it is signposted "La Hamberie", as this will take you to the hamlet of La Hamberie and not to the Farm). Go ahead and within 100 yards after these bends you will find the entrance to the farm on your left. There is a clearly marked sign for la Hamberie at the top of this drive. Cross the level crossing and continue down the drive to the farm. |
